Materials Info
A comprehensive range of materials is being used in ceramics component production. The ceramic material type and compound selection made according to the component function.
The following details information regarding several typical ceramics material:
- Aluminum Oxide – Alumina – the leading properties of this material are strength and stiffness, hardness and wear resistance, thermal stability, corrosion resistance and excellent dielectric.
- Macor – glass-ceramic material with high dielectric strength. Have properties as excellent insulator, useful in vacuum environment, thermal stability and expansion (high heat and flame environment), chemical resistance.
- Silicon Nitride - well known ceramic material for its excellent thermal shock resistance. Fused silica has a near zero thermal expansion coefficient, suitable for applications requiring rapid thermal cycling (up to 1500oC). Excellent chemical resistance in severely acidic conditions.
- Zirconia – the toughest material among ceramics. Stable in very high temperature (low resistance in thermal shock) and excellent resistance to attacks by various molten metals.
- Mullite – good and low cost material with high temperature strength, resistance in thermal shock and has excellent thermal stability, has electrical and oxidation resistively.
- Silicon Carbide – the hardest material practically available to industry. High temperature resistance material that can be heated to very high temperature in seconds.
